There are several ways to get from the airport to the city center:

  • Airport Express shuttle: The shuttle bus will take you from the airport to the city center, the university (UIT) and the hospital (UNN) in about 15 minutes. Departure times are adapted to flight arrivals.

  • Bus: Buses 24, 40 and 42 run from the city centre to the airport and back. The bus stop is right in front of the airport car park. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket machine at the bus stop or via the Troms ticket app.

  • Car: The journey from the airport to the city centre takes about 11 minutes (5.5 km) via Fylkesvei 862/Fv862.

  • Car rental: At Tromsø Airport you will find several car rental companies, including Avis, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt.

  • Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport and in the city. This is the most convenient but also the most expensive option.
